Goldenerre founder Melissa Koerner loves her Apple Watch. It helps her put down her phone and connect with her family, while knowing that she will still be notified of anything important via her watch. There’s just one problem - the default rubber band that comes standard with the Apple Watch is severely lacking in style.

Melissa founded Goldenerre to offer a stylish alternative - watch bands that reflect your personal style. Designed in San Francisco, their beautiful bands have been a hit with women looking for a fashion-forward alternative that can complement their outfit rather than detract from it.

Challenge​

Inability to showcase watch bands and matching cases together

Goldenerre products are primarily aimed at women, but the company focused heavily on marketing their watch bands and jewelry as gifts during the last holiday season. As a result, many of the visitors to their store are men, searching for the perfect gift for their partner.

To further promote and market their products as gifts, Melissa and her team wanted to create a selection of curated gift sets. This way, they could offer bands and matching watch cases, and package it all into a beautiful gift box. However, Shopify’s native functionality doesn’t have a solution for offering bundles or gift sets like this.

Solution​

Amplify’s Combo Products allowed Goldenerre to sell gift sets as products

Gift sets displayed as a collection or landing page for easy navigation

Customers Can select options (size and color) for each product in a set

Melissa selected Amplify from the Shopify app store after discovering that Amplify’s “Combo Products” feature offered the main functionality she was looking for - the ability to sell Goldenerre gift sets (made up of several different items) as a single product.

Plus, Combo Products could be added to a separate collection, making it easy for Goldenerre customers to find the complete range of gift sets and browse through the different options. Melissa also enjoyed that inventory was tracked in real-time, from existing SKUs in Shopify’s admin. This meant there was no need for manual updates, and no risk of selling an out-of-stock product as part of a gift set.

Goldenerre enjoyed a successful holiday season, with their gift sets front and center. Not only were their sets popular, they also resulted in double the average order value (AOV) compared to a standard sale. Due to high customer demand for their beautifully curated sets, Goldenerre is offering new product combinations throughout the year for various holidays and occasions.
